News from Adam

This is Adam here. Today  we  went to language school (La Democracia), where we learned spanish for five hours straight! We always  have a break at 10:30,which is helpful because it is refreshing to take a break from such hard work. After school, we always come home to an awaiting lunch. Today it was spaghetti, which I was excited about because I did not like yesterdays. But most of the meals are good. It rains a lot here. Yesterday, it rained for 4 straight hours! Today, we wanted to go downtown, so we went with the grandmother in the car. We thought she was going to visit her husband in the cemetery, but, alas, when we got there we found out it was a burial! We were dressed in our tacky yellow rain coats, and everyone else was dressed in black for the funeral. It was the true definition of sticking out like a sore thumb. It was quite funny. This is Adam, signing off.

    Hola Adam,
Que lastima! I can’t believe you already made close enough friends to attend a funeral. Lo siento por su abuela.
I hope you are having a lot of fun, despite the rain.

  2. Shonnie says:

Maybe your yellow raincoats added some sunshine to the funeral. 🙂

Mom Mom here. How is Guatemalan spaghetti? Is the weather as cool as you expected? What do you think of the quality of the language instruction?
All is well on Mill Creek. Z’s arrive on Friday night. Looking forward to photos and stories.
    Love you all!

  4. I hope you are learning lots and having lots of fun. I am envious.

    Miss seeing your smiling face,
    Ms. Jarvis
