Connecting and Reconnecting

Ugandan Habitat Homeowner, 1991

Ugandan Habitat Homeowner, 2009

What a privilege and honor it has been for me this week to attend the Habitat for Humanity National Affiliate Conference in Atlanta. I have had the opportunity to meet country directors from Haiti, El Salvador, Guatemala, Cameroon, Kenya, South Africa, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, … just to name a few. I met people from all over the US who are doing Habitat in their state and in their local communities. I re-connected with Habitat friends from long ago; folks who have given their hearts to service for decades. I am humbled and inspired, knowing that each person I talked with this week has their own transformational story. The global citizenship path is an exciting journey. What’s yours like??
