Gratitude

This photograph entitled, “Gratitude,” reminds me and our children to be thankful for education opportunities which are easily taken for granted. Of all the lessons learned during our family stay in the village, Ugandans’ genuine appreciation for chances to attend school top my list.

The student-written books included in the “Village Wisdom Kits” reveal many heartfelt stories and talents of Ugandan children. Their insights into happiness; their curiosity for a world beyond; their thirst for relationships – all of these writings and illustrations lure my attention, making me want to go back and spend more time in the village.
